It’s no coincidence that our most successful clients are also regular personal trainees.
More and more novice and veteran exercisers are working with personal trainers because they offer a practical and affordable means of getting and staying healthy. Many automatically equate personal training with gyms full of hard-core strength trainers and body builders. This is only a small part of the picture. Anyone, young, older, in shape or not, can utilize a personal trainer for a variety of reasons.
The work of a majority of personal trainers focuses on increasing their clients’ fitness levels, assisting them in weight loss and overseeing their strength-training and cardiovascular activities. Strength training, in particular, has received increased recognition in recent years because the lack of strength is now known to be a risk factor for disease, especially for older populations.
Personal trainers wear many hats, serving not only as coach, but also as confidante, role model, educator and a major source of motivation and encouragement. A great personal training professional’s positive impact on their clients is invaluable. There’s no price that can be placed on a person gaining their life back. Many of our clients have been able to reduce their dependence on medications and have become far more INDEPENDENT. Life is easier when you are healthy and strong!
Our most successful clients typically train two or more times weekly in “solo” or “pairs” sessions of 30 or 60 minutes. Many also utilize our Small Group and Ultimate Options Sessions (our most cost effective training format). The key is that our clients learn how to work out properly so they maximize the effectiveness of the time they spend working out. How does this work, and why does this so greatly amplify their success? Simple…
ACCOUNTABILITY- How easy is it to blow off a workout if you’ve kept your intention to yourself? But if you knew your trainer was waiting on you…
SAFETY – Our professional trainers are experienced, certified experts. Your safety is their #1 concern. You’ll work out with proper form and avoid the injury pitfalls that hinder so many of your peers. Individuals recovering from an injury or accident often enlist our trainers’ help (often, in conjunction with our chiropractor and/or physical therapists) to get them back in top form.
All clients begin with a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) as part of their Initial Fitness Diagnostic. This allows our trainers to zero in on hidden musculoskeletal dysfunctions and create custom training routines based on the test findings. For those who need it, a referral to one of our chiropractors or physical therapists may follow their diagnostic. These rehabilitation practitioners will work directly with your personal trainer in order to ensure your safe progress.
INTENSITY – No more “going through the motions” at the gym. Most clients build more strength and endurance, and burn far more calories under the direct guidance of our certified personal trainers than they ever thought possible when working out on their own.
BOREDOM (NO MORE!) – You NEVER know what your trainer will have in store for you! Your trainer will have 100’s of exercises per muscle group at their disposal. You can train 3 times a week for years and never do the same workout twice. The benefits of adding variety to your workout are countless. The bottom line is you’ll never get bored and neither will your muscles, which means you keep getting results.
FUN – Have you witnessed our trainers in action and the many smiles that our trainers elicit from their clients? ☺. Sure, there’s a lot of work being done, but our trainers have a knack for keeping it FUN.
LET’S GET STARTED! – Want to learn more? UU President, Troy McGowan, meets with all prospective clients personally. Troy will help you figure out if Ultimate U is a good match for your needs, and, if so, which trainers and training options will best help you reach your goals.
