THE ULTIMATE U CHALLENGE
SUCCESS STORIES
ABOUT US

The Challenge brings together a group of women who embark on the journey to good health together.  We support each other as we learn, laugh, and pursue our dreams.
Client’s frequently tell us that the warmth, caring, camaraderie and fun they experienced as part of The Challenge were, without a doubt, one of the main reasons they got
such great results.

“I have met the most amazing women…women who are both vulnerable and strong, and insightful without judgment.  We have all embraced each other’s differences, and have been here for one another when we’ve faltered or triumphed.  While learning about them, I have learned about myself as well.  It is truly a sisterhood, one that I feel so fortunate
to a part of.”

Nina Golding, 48 year-old working mother of three and Challenge Graduate.  Nina lost 22 pounds, 27 inches, and 11% body fat and gained a support system for life.

Knowledge is power
Many of our clients seek to create a healthy body and weight.  Our approach starts with the premise that achieving good health, fitness and well-being is a transformational process which involves activating and balancing four distinct but interrelated areas of our lives.  The four areas are: 1) physical,2) mental, 3) emotional, and 4) purpose (spiritual).  In our natural state, humans are healthy and fit.  Our experience in working with hundreds of clients has borne out the premise that a deviation from this natural healthy body and weight is usually the result of imbalances in one or more of these four areas.Sometimes the culprit is purely physical:  a sedentary lifestyle resulted in a lower metabolism and gradual weight gain occurred.  Sometimes the core issue stems from a lack of sufficient knowledge (a ‘mental’ cause, if you will) about proper nutrition and effective exercise.  Sometimes the issue is primarily emotional:  consistently utilizing food as a reactive balm to soften the stress and uncomfortable emotions we are experiencing in life may ultimately lead to weight gain.  Sometimes weight gain and poor health can be traced back to an unclear sense of purpose.  Even when we possess the knowledge we need to eat and exercise properly and emotional issues are under control, we may still find it difficult to put our knowledge into action.  For some reason, we don’t follow through with an effective exercise and nutrition plan.  When this factor is in play clients will often  say, “I know what I need do—I’m just not doing it.”

This lack of inertia usually occurs due to a weak connection between the behaviors needed to achieve the goal (i.e. healthy eating
and exercise) and a deeply held value.  Although personal transformation is thought by many to be the most rewarding pursuit we can
endeavor—like all thingsworth having—it requires work.  Without a strong connection to deeply meaningful reasons to change, we can
quickly run out of enthusiasm and fuel for the journey.

In reality, poor health and weight gain are generally due to a combination  of these factors.  Through the Challenge process,
we address and strengthen   all four dimensions (physical, mental, emotional and purpose) to create a foundation for lasting change.

The Challenge is not a quick fix.  It is a life-transforming process which is both challenging and deeply rewarding.

“I am so encouraged by my life now.  I have more patience and joy.  Not a day goes by that someone at work
doesn’t notice me and tell me how great I look and how I seem so happy now.  My husband has said that although he is
thrilled with the physical changes I have made, his greatest joy is seeing my attitude toward myself change.  He said that,
before, it broke his heart that I did not like the person he loved so much.  Now, he sees that I am happy and positive and for
the first time in my life, I am proud of myself…The Challenge saved my life and gave me a new one better than I ever
dreamed possible.”
